How we write vs how it's read

When asked to help a client convince stakeholders that they need to change their method of communications, there are two approaches I can take.
The rational one.
I outline all the reasons why the way we write is not the way people read.
Or, I can simply share this:

The waterlemons meme works so well because we donβt just understand the problem intellectually.
We experience it.
And once we feel it, itβs hard not to believe it.
