Taxi driver
Bri Williams
I felt like I was going to throw up 🤮.
Racing through Sydney traffic, my taxi driver was pulsing the accelerator pedal, creating an ever so slight surging motion.
Back and forth. Back and forth.
I get motion sick easily, so he didn’t realise that his small action was having a significant impact on my experience.
👉 Most behaviour is like this. It’s unconscious. Habitual.
As an extension of us, it doesn’t register. It’s simply how we do things.
How we drive. How we write. How we interact.
That, I think, is the most revelatory aspect of my training.
People’s eyes are opened not only to the patterns of how others behave, but their own patterns as well.
And once you realise you are pulsing, influencing action becomes a smooth ride.
